JD.com Hong Kong has launched a large-scale subsidy for home appliance products, offering services such as "30-day returns, 180-day exchanges for defective items," and "free shipping on single items." Ricky Wong, Vice Chairman and CEO of Hong Kong Technology Venture, raised concerns yesterday (March 26) about JD's mobile app page for the Hong Kong and Macao markets, accusing it of copying the design of HKTVmall.

JD responded last night, knowing Wong's doubts about JD's expansion into the Hong Kong market and emphasizing that JD is not here to compete with anyone, but to bring real benefits to every resident in Hong Kong."

JD stated that residents in Hong Kong have long faced significantly higher prices compared to the Mainland, including high rents, shipping costs, and service fees. The company claimed that its operational model can minimize costs. JD also noted, "Since Wong has raised the issue, we are happy to compete on who provides better customer service."

JD announced that this year, the JD app in Hong Kong will implement free delivery for all categories for orders over HK$188. Additionally, during the peak sales season for home appliances from now until the end of June, the company will provide free installation for all self-operated home appliances purchased by Hong Kong customers.

Wong previously pointed out that the design of the JD app page closely resembles HKTVmall, saying, "It's surprising that a reputable app like JD's has 80-90% of its design mimicking ours. Thank you for raising our profile." He also questioned why JD's "price guarantee" service in Hong Kong only includes retailers like ParknShop, Wellcome, Broadway, and Fortress, but not HKTVmall, "Is it because you look down on us or is it because we're cheaper?"

On March 24, JD announced enhanced offers for Hong Kong consumers, launching the price guarantee service, which covers all self-operated products.

Until April 30, if consumers find a product priced higher than on other platforms after confirming receipt, they can apply for price difference compensation. The company also initiated large subsidies for home appliances, offering services such as "30-day returns, 180-day exchanges for defective items" and "free shipping on single items". Furthermore, new users in Hong Kong who download the JD app for the first time will receive a special package worth RMB 600. Additionally, a fifth operational center has been established in Chai Wan to further enhance the shopping experience for consumers in Hong Kong.
