The underage dating controversy involved an actor of Queen of Tears, Kim Soo-hyun, and an actress of The Man from Nowhere, Kim Sae-ron. The former admitted that they dated for more than a year after she reached adulthood through the firm Gold Medalist, while Kim Sae-ron's surviving family members revealed the evidence of their secret dating for six years on the YouTube channel "가로세로연구소," including photos and love letters between the two.
The lawyer representing the surviving family announced yesterday (March 26) that he will hold a press conference at 1:30 pm in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to disclose the evidence of Kim Soo-hyun's dating with Kim Sae-ron, a minor, and to take legal action against the recent false allegations against the surviving family, targeting the South Korean media outlet The Fact, which claimed that the surviving family was indifferent to Kim Sae-ron and didn't bother to pay attention to the report that she was admitted into the hospital for committing suicide, as well as the YouTuber Lee Jin-ho, who has been criticizing the family for hiding the fact that Kim Sae-ron had been married before the end of her life.
Originally scheduled to be held on March 30's Sakura Festival in Kaohsiung event, Kim Soo hyun announced his resignation on the grounds of "schedule adjustments" and was replaced by the Taiwan's group Power Station. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai denied pressuring the event, and clarified to the Taiwan media yesterday that "the city government is only expressing its concerned position, and I hope that they will consider it carefully, and ultimately, the organizer will decide on its own."
