The underage dating scandal between South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun of "Queen of Tears" and Kim Sae-ron, the late star of "The Man from Nowhere," continues. Recently, Kim Sae-ron's surviving family members appointed an attorney to sue YouTuber Lee Chun-ho for spreading untruths and pushing Kim Sae-ron to the brink of extinction.
Lee denied it immediately, and yesterday (March 19) released a recording of a conversation between Kim Sae-ron and someone close to her, in which she admitted that she married her boyfriend outside the entertainment industry earlier this year and that although she was pregnant for a while, she chose to have an abortion in the end.
Kim Sae-ron passed away last month at the age of 24. The family sued YouTuber Lee for defamation and demanded that Kim Soo Hyun admit to dating the underage Kim Sae-ron, as well as an apology from Gold Medalist, the firm Kim Soo-hyun works for, for issuing two attorney's letters to Kim Sae-ron to recover the debt. Lee fought back yesterday, saying through a YouTube live broadcast that he wanted to "correct the wrong factual relationship" and criticized the surviving family for hiding the truth that Kim Sae-ron was married before she was born.
According to Lee's release, Kim Sae-ron uploaded several photos of a man and a woman together on January 8 on social media and left a message saying, "getting married". However, Kim later denied the wedding news and explained that the photos were just for fun with her friends.
At the same time, Lee released a recorded conversation between Kim Sae-ron and the director of her new manager's company, in which she admitted that she married someone outside the entertainment industry South Korean boyfriend who lives in the U.S:
"I didn't want to get married, and I wanted to break up, but I had a baby," she said, adding that even though she had gotten an abortion, her boyfriend had kept threatening to do so, and she eventually got married out of South Korea.
Kim said her husband, who lives in New York and was introduced to her by an acquaintance, is an ordinary office worker with a good personality, except that he gets crazy when he gets drunk; he was dissatisfied with the woman's secrecy about the marriage and logged on to her social media account and uploaded photos of the two of them together. Kim Sae-ron was asked if her parents agreed to the marriage, but she did not respond positively.
After the recording, Lee said that Kim Sae-ron's family actually obtained his cell phone and did not stop releasing information to "가로세로연구소", which means that they must have known about Kim Sae-ron's marriage as well. He also said that he had confirmed that Kim Sae-ron was living with her husband in New York, and revealed that Kim Sae-ron had tried to commit suicide a few times last year, but her family didn't help pay the 20 million won medical bill, which was advanced by the company, and said that he had the relevant evidence, and that he was actually sorry that Kim Sae-ron couldn't rest in peace, and had tried to disclose as little as possible, but pointed out that he knew more heart-breaking inside information.
South Korean media 'Newsen' followed up and reported that the agency Gold Medalist, in order to cope with Kim Sae-ron's surviving family members and the "가로세로연구소", is trying to understand her situation in the months before her death through various channels and is trying to persuade the relevant people to attend a press conference next week to restore the truth of the incident.
