A tragic murder case unfolded in Fo Tan on March 16 when a 52-year-old man was ambushed by two assailants wielding knives. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.
Police investigations led to the arrest of a 76-year-old man and his 47-year-old son, both surnamed Wong and alleged to have triad connections, for their suspected involvement in commissioning the attack. Additionally, a 28-year-old nurse surnamed Chan was arrested for allegedly helping her boyfriend flee to the mainland after the crime. Four suspects, including the knife-wielding attackers, are still at large.
The nurse has been charged with one count of assisting an offender and one count of misleading police officers. She appeared in Shatin Magistrates' Courts today (March 19).
The father and son accused of ordering the hit have been granted bail pending further investigation and are required to report to police later this month.
The 76-year-old father is also linked to a separate conspiracy to wound case from January 15, in which a man was assaulted outside 380 Portland Street in Mong Kok by two attackers aged between 30 and 40. He has been charged with conspiracy to wound and appeared in court today as well.
The January incident left the victim with head injuries, and he reported the assault at Mong Kok police station.
