A 52-year-old man was fatally attacked in Fo Tan yesterday afternoon (March 16) after being ambushed by two knife-wielding assailants. The victim, who sustained multiple stab wounds, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

After the attack, the two suspects fled the scene in a taxi, which was later intercepted by police on Tseung Kwan O Tunnel Road. Reports suggest the suspects alighted in Shek Kip Mei.

According to Wen Wei Po, police suspect the assailants may be hiding inside Kin Hing Building, located at 52-54 Argyle Street in Mong Kok, a mixed-use residential and commercial property. Late last night, officers equipped with breaching tools and riot shields searched the building overnight but found no trace of the suspects.

As of noon today (March 17), police have continued to seal off the building for investigation. Heavily armed officers, including members of the Police Tactical Unit wearing bulletproof vests, helmets, and carrying shields, are stationed at the building's entrances and surrounding areas, including back alleys. Over ten detectives from the Crime New Territories South Regional Headquarters have also been deployed to the scene.

During the operation, officers carrying riot shields and breaching tools searched the building, creating a tense atmosphere. Crowds of onlookers gathered outside the building, observing the ongoing police activity.

Separately, the victim's family, including two men and one woman, arrived at the Fu Shan Public Mortuary in Tai Wai at around 10:30 a.m. today, accompanied by investigators, to formally identify the body. They stayed for about 45 minutes before leaving without addressing the media.
