Global second busiest McDonald's at Admiralty Centre closes for renovation

McDonald's at Admiralty Centre is the second busiest McDonald's in the world. McDonald's Hong Kong announced that the flagship store in Admiralty Centre has been closed to customers since last Saturday (March 15), and is undergoing a complete refurbishment to make a strong comeback with a new image in mid-April this year.

Since its opening in 2006, McDonald's at Admiralty Centre has set numerous records. It was the first McDonald's restaurant in Hong Kong to offer free Wi-Fi when it first opened in 2006, and in 2015, it was the first restaurant in Hong Kong to implement the "Experience of the Future" concept, which introduces self-service ordering machines, electronic menu boards, self-service hot/cold water stations, and touchless hand wash machines, leading the trend of digitalized dining experience.

McDonald's at Admiralty Centre is one of the world's busiest McDonald's restaurants, second only to the store at Liverpool Street Station in London, UK, with more than 1,000 customers per hour during peak hours, making it the second busiest McDonald's restaurant in the world.

Over the past 10 years, the restaurant has served more than 24 million customers, sold 4 million packets of fries, 7.5 million items of Chicken McNuggets and 7.5 million items of Chicken McNuggets, In the past 10 years, McDonald's has served over 24 million customers, sold 4 million packs of fries, 7.5 million Chicken McNuggets and 2.3 million cups of coffee. Of the world's top 50 busiest McDonald's restaurants, Hong Kong McDonald's accounts for 21, including four of the top five.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary, McDonald's Hong Kong announced that the store at Admiralty Centre, which has set numerous records, will bid farewell to customers on March 15 and embark on a comprehensive renovation project to make a strong comeback with a brand new image in mid-April this year to bring more innovative experiences to customers.

To commemorate the temporary farewell, McDonald's at Admiralty Centre organized a party last Wednesday (March 12), inviting all staff and their family members to participate, as well as invited singers to thank them for their support over the years.
