Four cruise ships will simultaneously dock in Hong Kong, as announced by Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rosanna Law, on social media. She described this as making Hong Kong "even livelier" and shared photos of the ships.
Throughout March, a total of 17 large cruise ships are scheduled to stop in Hong Kong, with arrangements for passengers to enjoy onshore excursions, including visits to the Kai Tak Sports Park and other attractions in East Kowloon.
The ships visiting this weekend include the Celebrity Millennium and Costa Serena, which were docked at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, along with Silver Whisper and Seabourn Encore at the Ocean Terminal. Lo encouraged residents to take advantage of the good weather to capture unique photos of these impressive vessels.
The Tourism Board reported that the arrival of these four international cruise ships brings approximately 5,400 passengers from 31 countries and regions. Many tourists participated in local experiences, exploring Kowloon City, tasting Hong Kong-style egg tarts, and visiting the Kai Tak Sports Park.
Notably, three more large international cruise ships are set to arrive on March 18-19, including the Queen Anne and Norwegian Sky, both making their first visits to Hong Kong. The Queen Elizabeth will also return, with each ship accommodating over 2,000 passengers. The Queen Anne will host a grand celebration dinner for over 1,000 guests at a local hotel as part of its world cruise festivities.
