Tusu Wine, also known as Toso, is consumed during the Chinese New Year, mainly to avoid the plague and to pray for good health. First appearing in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Tusu Wine was originally made from Chinese herbs soaked in Huangjiu (a type of Chinese rice wine) and sealed for seven days, with the effect of dispelling and preventing colds.
