
At approximately 11:50 a.m. on Feb. 8, a large-scale landslide occurred in Jinping Village, Mu'ai Town, Junlian County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province. As of 5 p.m. the same day, 10 residential homes were reported to be buried, leaving over 30 people missing.
In response to the disaster, the Ministry of Natural Resources activated a Level III geological disaster emergency response at 1:10 p.m. and upgraded it to Level II by 4:00 p.m. A team of experts has been dispatched to the site to provide guidance on rescue operations and landslide risk management.
