
The numbers from the Immigration Department show that yesterday (Jan. 29), the first day of the Lunar New Year, nearly 300,000 people entered Hong Kong, while over 470,000 people exited.
Lok Ma Chau was the busiest port, with more than 126,000 people passing through, slightly more than the airport.
Regarding departures, there were close to 360,000 Hong Kong residents leaving, of which nearly 50,000 used the airport. The majority exited through Lok Ma Chau, Lo Wu, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and the Shenzhen Bay Port, with nearly 40,000 Hong Kong residents departing via the West Kowloon Station.
On the entry side, Hong Kong residents accounted for over 150,000, while there were about 110,000 mainland visitors and nearly 30,000 other visitors. The mainland visitors mainly entered through the Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station, with nearly 30,000 people.
