TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew invited to Trump inauguration on Jan. 20

TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew has received an invitation to attend US President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20, according to two sources familiar with the matter, as reported by CCTV News.

Reports also indicate that Trump is considering issuing an executive order after assuming office to temporarily suspend the enforcement of the TikTok ban for 60 to 90 days. With over 14 million followers on TikTok, Trump has previously expressed a favorable view of the platform on multiple occasions.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration is reportedly exploring ways to keep TikTok operational in the US. A government official revealed that efforts are underway to explore various options to prevent TikTok from being banned by Sunday, Jan. 19.
