A scaffolding collapse in Lam Tin, Hong Kong, injured three people on the morning of Jan. 14. The incident occurred at 9:41 a.m. on Lin Tak Road, near Hong Wah Court, where slope expansion works were underway. The falling scaffolding struck a passing garbage truck, injuring three individuals.
Emergency responders and police quickly arrived at the scene. Preliminary reports indicate that all three injured persons were conscious. One worker on the garbage truck was trapped inside the vehicle and is currently being rescued by firefighters. The incident is being treated as an industrial accident.
The Transport Department has announced that portions of Lin Tak Road, in both directions near Hong Wah Court, have been temporarily closed due to the accident. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes, as traffic in the area is heavily congested.
