HK-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Half Marathon: Guo Jingjing, Vivian Kong make an appearance

The second Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Half Marathon was held this morning (Jan. 5).

The event attracted about 8,000 participants, of whom about 1,600 were non-local runners.

The first challenge group race started at 7:15 am at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Link Road, with the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rosanna Law, and the Director of Immigration, Benson Kwok, officiating at the starting ceremony.

The 2km honorary cup was held afterwards, with Rosanna Law joining the Secretary for Justice Paul Lam, the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Erick Tsang, and the Secretary for Security Tang Ping-keung, as well as Legislative Council Members Vincent Cheng, Kenneth Fok, Guo Jingjing, and Vivian Kong, to make an appearance.

When interviewed by reporters after the race, Law said she had not run for a long time and praised the beautiful sunrise, describing it as "half sports and half travel". She hoped that the event would not only attract elite athletes but also other tourists to stay overnight.

By 2:00 pm, the HZMB will be unsealed towards Zhuhai and Macao, but the left and center lanes towards Hong Kong will be closed, and Hong Kong-bound vehicles will have to use the right lane, and the whole route is expected to be unsealed at 4:30 pm.
