Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mabel Chan, said at the kick-off ceremony that this year is "an eventful year" for Hong Kong's running sector. This year's race includes interesting elements, such as street scenes, music and aroma along the route, and for the first time, pon choi and cha kwo are provided as supplementary food.
In addition to promoting Hong Kong's unique streetscape to runners from other countries, the marathon will also offer a chance to taste Hong Kong's local cuisine, which is a great way to experience Hong Kong as a tourist destination, she added.
