Man stabbed to death in Tuen Mun over alleged love dispute, police launch murder investigation
A murder investigation is underway in Hong Kong after a man was fatally stabbed at Po Tin Estate, Tuen Mun, on Thursday night (Jan. 2). Police received a report around 10 p.m. from a security guard, who discovered the victim, a 40-year-old man, lying in the lobby of Block 7 with stab wounds to his back. Bloodstains and a pair of slippers were found outside the building.
Emergency responders rushed the unconscious victim to Tuen Mun Hospital, but he was pronounced dead at 11:55 p.m.
The police have upgraded the case to "murder" and are now actively searching for a suspect believed to be in his 50s.
According to initial findings, the fatal incident arose from a dispute between two men outside the building, allegedly over a romantic relationship. During the altercation, the suspect reportedly stabbed the victim in the back, leaving him bleeding heavily on the ground.
