Direct high-speed rail service available from Shaanxi to HK starting Jan. 5
Starting from 12:00 a.m. on Jan. 5, 2025, China's rail transport will implement the train operation schedule for the first quarter of 2025. The high-speed train G828/G825 from Xi'an North to Shenzhen North will extend to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, marking the first direct high-speed rail connection from Shaanxi to Hong Kong.
It is reported that the G828/G825 train will depart at 11:05 a.m. on Jan. 5, 2025, passing through Luoyang Station, Zhengzhou Station, Changsha Station, Guangzhou Station, and Shenzhen North Station, and will arrive at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station at 21:09 the same day, covering a total duration of 10 hours.
A responsible person from China Railway Xi'an Group stated that to provide passengers with a better travel experience, announcements will be made in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. Meals catering to the tastes of Hong Kong residents will be offered, along with differentiated services and travel recommendations.
This train will also feature two themed carriages: in "The Longest Day In Chang'an" themed carriage, staff dressed in Tang Dynasty costumes will guide passengers to experience traditional culture, such as tea ceremonies and shadow puppetry, along with performances of songs and dances by the train staff. In the "Pearl of the Orient" themed carriage, a concert featuring the "Top Ten Pop Songs of Hong Kong" will be held.
