Free rides on Dec. 20 to celebrate 25th anniversary of Macao SAR
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the Macao Light Rapid Transit (MLM) announced today (Dec. 16) that it will provide free rides for passengers on Dec. 20, encouraging residents and visitors to make greater use of the light rapid transit for travel.
The Macao Light Rapid Transit stated that during the free ride period, passengers will not need to purchase tickets upon arriving at the station. They only need to follow the instructions of on-site staff when entering and exiting the gates.
The company also reminds travelers that during peak times, passengers should adhere to on-site arrangements for orderly boarding and avoid lingering in the paid area to prevent obstructing other passengers.
Additionally, due to higher foot traffic during holidays, passengers are advised to pay attention to station announcements, follow station signage, and heed the instructions of station staff for orderly boarding.
Currently, the Macao Light Rail has three operational lines: the Taipa Line, which runs between Barra and Taipa Ferry Terminal; the Seac Pai Van Line, connecting the Union Hospital withSeac Pai Van; and the Hengqin Line, which just opened on Dec. 2, connecting Lotus Station to Hengqin Station.
