Photos | Public in Malaysia applauds China's visa-free policies for facilitating travel, business
On Dec. 17, the National Immigration Administration announced the comprehensive optimization of the Visa-Free Transit Policy. The stay duration for visa-exempt foreign nationals in transit has been extended from the original 72 and 144 hours to 240 hours (10 days). Additionally, 21 new entry and exit points have been added for transit visa-exempt individuals, further expanding the areas where they can stay and engage in activities.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia. On June 20, China agreed to extend its visa-free policy for Malaysian citizens until the end of 2025, and as a reciprocal arrangement, Malaysia will extend its visa-free policy for Chinese citizens until the end of 2026.
DotDotNews's reporter interviewed Malaysian exhibitors, locals, Chinese and tourists at the International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, who said that the extension of China's Visa-Free Transit Policy or China's visa-free policy has made it easier for more people to learn about China and visit more cities in China, and has greatly facilitated businessmen traveling to and from the country, boosting the development of the economy and the tourism industry.
Ms. Nadzirah Sariff said that with these policies, they can travel to China for business more easily.
Mr. Wei Shan said the policy can give travelers more time to learn about China's culture, or how business can go, which makes China and Malaysia better.
Exhibitor Mr. Leung said China's visa-free policies have allowed more foreigners to come to China to learn more about the country and reduce their prejudices. He said that China is not what the foreign media reports, there are not many restrictions, China is developing rapidly, and intelligence and innovation are very advanced. He hoped that the world could correctly understand China, and seize the business opportunities.
Ms. Azureen told the reporter that Chinese businessmen go to Malaysia to know how Malaysia's people work more conveniently, and maybe there will be more cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Shawn said that the Visa-Free Transit Policy is good for foreigners to go to China to find friends, business opportunities, or find what they need from China, he added that payment in China is so convenient, and more and more people will understand Chinese culture.
Chinese businessman Mr. Ip said the policies make him meet his customers often.
