Malaysia-China Summit 2024 marks 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with focus on trade & investment
This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia. The opening ceremony of the Malaysia-China Summit 2024, an international trade and investment exposition leadership conference, was held at the International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur today (Dec. 17).
After the singing of the Malaysian and Chinese national anthems, a religious ceremony was held to bless the event.
The Executive Chairman of Qube Integrated Malaysia, and Organizing Chair of Malaysia-China Summit 2024, Mr. Richard Teo delivered a welcoming speech.
The Hon. Date' Seri Reezal American Naina Merican, the Chairman of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), said that China has been Malaysia's top partner.
The Ambassador of the People's Public of China to Malaysia pointed out that from less than US$200 million when diplomatic relations were established in 1974, China has now become Malaysia's largest trading partner with a total trade volume of US$190.9 billion.
The Minister of Transport Malaysia, Mr. Loke View Fook, made a keynote address & Launching, wishing both countries the best.
