Secretary of the Cultural, Sports and Tourism, Rosanna Law, announced today (Dec. 14) that the number of visitors to Hong Kong in the first 11 months of 2024 has surpassed 40 million, reaching nearly 41 million. With the strong momentum in the tourism sector, Law expressed optimism that the total number of visitors for the year could reach 45 million, close to the earlier projection of 46 million.
Law highlighted the positive impact of the recently resumed "multiple-entry" endorsement, which has driven a 7-8% increase in daily visitor arrivals compared to the November average. Weekend visitor numbers have surged by 30% year-on-year, underscoring a significant recovery in the tourism industry.
Reflecting on her role as Secretary, Law noted the responsibility to maximize the benefits of the country's supportive policies for HK. She emphasized that effectively implementing these measures is crucial to earning the country's confidence in introducing further initiatives to benefit the city.
