20-year-old man weighing over 300 pounds collapses at home in Tseung Kwan O, later pronounced dead

A 20-year-old man weighing over 300 pounds collapsed at home in Tseung Kwan O and was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital. The incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. today (Dec. 9). The police received a report about a young man who had collapsed and was unresponsive in the bedroom of his apartment in Block 2 of Fu Ning Garden.

Paramedics arrived and transported him to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for emergency treatment, but he was ultimately declared dead. The police will arrange for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

According to reports from various media outlets including Sing Tao and Hong Kong 01, the deceased was unemployed, weighed around 300 pounds, and had rarely gone out in the past three years, often staying up late to play video games. This morning, he had gone out of his room to use the bathroom, and at that time, his family did not notice anything unusual. It wasn't until his mother checked on him at around 11 a.m. that she discovered he had collapsed in his bedroom.
