At around 4:27 am local time on Dec. 4, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol announced his acceptance of the National Assembly's request to lift the emergency martial law.
This came just over six hours after he declared martial law at 10:25 pm on Dec. 3. According to Yonhap News Agency, constitutional experts in South Korea generally believe that Yoon's actions may be unconstitutional and could become a reason for his impeachment.
