Chinese Foreign Ministry hopes company can make decisions 'free from political pressure' in response to Uniqlo CEO's Xinjiang comments
In a recent interview with the BBC, Tadashi Yanai, the CEO of Fast Retailing, the parent company of the clothing brand Uniqlo, claimed that the company's products do not use cotton from Xinjiang.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning responded by saying that Xinjiang cotton is among the best in the world.
She expressed hope that relevant companies can eliminate political pressure and negative interference, allowing them to make independent business decisions that align with their interests.
