The long-anticipated Shenzhen Metro Line 13 is set to begin operations at the end of December, marking a major milestone for Shenzhen Bay Port as it officially enters the metro era.

With the Entrance/Exit C of the metro station located just 100 meters from the boundary checkpoint, passengers can easily transition between the port and the metro system. According to early user feedback, the seamless connection is expected to attract more Hong Kong residents to use the port for travel.

This new development promises enhanced convenience for cross-boundary travelers between HK and Shenzhen. The initial section of Line 13 will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., aligning with other metro lines in Shenzhen.

Ticket prices are competitive: traveling from Shenzhen Bay Port to Airport North on Line 13 costs RMB 7 with just one transfer. Shorter trips, such as to Sea World or Shekou Port, are priced at RMB 4, while a journey to Shatian Station on Line 14 is set at RMB 12, the highest fare.

The Shenzhen Bay Port metro station is equipped with advanced facilities, including an open-concept smart customer service center and AI-powered ticketing robots that provide mobile ticketing assistance and intelligent inquiries. Self-service machines allow passengers to independently manage their ticketing needs.

Inside the control room, high-definition digital displays monitor real-time data, such as temperature, humidity, and air quality, ensuring smooth station operations. In case of emergencies, the system can instantly issue alerts and display surveillance footage to help staff quickly address issues.

The trains themselves are outfitted with cutting-edge technology, including a "smart doctor" system that monitors over 2,600 data points and employs more than 100 predictive models to diagnose the health of 14 onboard systems. This ensures passenger safety by enabling remote troubleshooting, resets, and restarts when needed.

The introduction of Shenzhen Metro Line 13 not only streamlines travel for Shenzhen and HK residents but also enhances the efficiency and reliability of public transportation in the region. With its robust technological advancements and thoughtful design, the metro line is poised to become a vital link in the Greater Bay Area's interconnected transportation network.
