The list of countries for visa-free travel to China has expanded further, with the number of countries enjoying visa-free treatment in China increasing to 38, as recently introduced by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Once the news was announced, the search interest for Chinese destinations surged on various travel platforms. The industry predicts that in the winter of 2024, the enthusiasm for "traveling to China" will be reignited.
On Ctrip's overseas platforms in Europe and Japan, the search interest for Chinese destinations has increased by 65% and 112%, respectively. There has also been a significant rise in flight queries for direct flights from multiple locations in Japan to China.
