Sun Dong departs for Canada to strengthen I&T ties
The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Professor Sun Dong, will depart for a visit to Canada this evening (November 3). He will be going to Toronto, Ottawa, and Waterloo to strengthen ties and cooperation between Hong Kong and Canada in areas such as innovation and technology (I&T).
During his visit to Canada, Professor Sun will meet with leaders of the local I&T industry and technology enterprises and engage in exchanges with young people from Hong Kong who are studying there. He will also deliver a keynote speech at the Life Science and Global Health Seminar, co-organized by the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association (Ottawa Chapter) and Invest Hong Kong. Moreover, he will visit local universities, research institutes, and I&T parks.
Professor Sun will return to Hong Kong on the morning of November 8. During his absence, the Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Ms Lillian Cheong, will be the Acting Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry.
