The Kai Tak Sports Park will host its first test event this Sunday (Oct. 27). In a social media post today (Oct. 25), Eric Chan, Chief Secretary for Administration said that he will attend the event to inspect the use of the park.

Chan noted that Sunday's test event will feature a match between the local second-division football teams Wong Tai Sin and Sai Kung, with around 1,000 ticketed spectators expected to attend at the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground.

Chan stated that he has instructed the park management to ensure thorough preparations both inside and outside the venue. He also advised the public to take the MTR to the event, recommending the quickest route: walking from Sung Wong Toi station via Exit D. He noted that the MTR has added additional signage at the station and will make regular announcements to guide attendees to the stadium.

Chan also mentioned that he will attend the match on Sunday to inspect the use of the venue's facilities and monitor the crowd's exit after the game. This will allow relevant departments to gain valuable experience in holding various stress tests progressively, ensuring that the sports park is fully prepared before its official opening next year.
