In the second half of 2024, several new large-scale shopping malls have opened in Shenzhen, promising to offer a fresh shopping experience for Hong Kongers heading north. These include Dayun Tiandi in Longgang District, Bantian Vanke Plaza, Qianli Shijia in Bao'an District, and Wanfeng Coastal City Shopping Center. Let's take a closer look at what these new malls offer in terms of fun, food, and entertainment!
Dayun Tiandi: A Park-Style Commercial Space
Shenzhen's Dayun Tiandi opened in late July and is the country's first park-style commercial space themed around natural weather phenomena. Many of its art installations and Instagram-worthy spots revolve around this theme. The complex consists of Dayun Center, Dayun Park, and Dayun Tiandi, blending urban green spaces with mountain and lake elements to create an ecological shopping experience. Visitors can shop, enjoy recreational activities, and even stroll by the lakeside. The space is home to various animals such as peacocks, black swans, and even sika deer. If you time your visit right (the sika deer appear every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 4 PM to 5:30 PM), you can see them roaming around. You could easily spend an entire day here without feeling bored.

The mall also features an indoor horse-riding arena called Qile Horse Riding, where visitors can enjoy the pleasure of riding. It has professional training facilities and a team of instructors offering lessons and riding experiences for people of all ages and skill levels. They even provide one-on-one courses to cater to individual growth. For approximately RMB 208, you can enjoy 20 minutes of riding. Additionally, the popular Scent Library has opened a branch here, selling over a hundred unique perfumes with intriguing scents like "boiled water," "2B pencil," "misty rainbow," "fresh grass," and "watermelon." Each fragrance seems to tell its own story, making you curious about what these everyday items might smell like.

The mall also boasts a 1,200-square-meter open-air playground surrounded by more than 30 plant species, providing endless fun for children.
