Nara Park in Japan, famous for its deer, attracts many visitors yearly. Incidents of deer attacking tourists, however, have also become increasingly common.
Recently, there has been a significant rise in the number of tourists injured by deer antlers, doubling the incidents compared to last year. Local animal protection organizations are urging visitors to stay vigilant to avoid injuries.
According to Japanese media NHK reports and data from Nara Prefecture, there were 43 incidents in Sept. alone where tourists were injured by deer antlers, a 2.5-fold increase from the previous year, drawing significant public attention.
The report also notes that starting from Oct. 10, the Nara City Government will issue a "Serious Caution" and use various electronic public announcement systems to advise tourists to keep their distance from deer herds.
