6-year-old starts pet waste removal business to keep his own cat
In Warwick, Rhode Island, a 6-year-old boy, Luca Aprin, started a pet waste removal service to earn money and adopt a cat.
Passionate about animals due to his mother's job at a local animal shelter, Luca often volunteered there, helping with cleaning and looking for homes for stray animals.
Driven by his desire to adopt a cat from the shelter but lacking the funds for adoption fees and pet care expenses, Luca established his own small business, "Poopa Scoopa Luca." He charged US$15 to US$20 per service, cleaning clients' yards and removing pet waste. Through his venture, he managed to secure a few regular customers and quickly earned enough to bring a shelter cat home, whom he named Pebble.
Despite achieving his initial goal, Luca wishes to continue his cleaning business to help more animals. His mother expressed pride in her son's accomplishments, stating, "I have the best kid in the world."
