WTT China Smash | Sun Yingsha becomes first player with over 10,000 points after winning championship
On October 6, Sun Yingsha won the WTT China Slam Women's Singles Final by defeating her teammate Wang Manyu 4-2, winning the championship.
After winning the title, Sun received US$100,000 in prize money and 2,000 world ranking points.
According to CCTV Sports, before this competition, Sun was at 9,400 points. With 2,000 points after winning this event and replacing a minimum of 600 points ( WTT Star Contender Lanzhou Champion), she will reach 10,800 points and become the first player to break the 10,000-point mark under the new system of world ranking.
Since the implementation of the International Table Tennis Federation points system in 2022, only eight matches per year have been awarded points in each cycle.
