Mid-Autumn Festival transportation: Free rides on MTR overnight trams
Tomorrow (Sept. 17) is the Mid-Autumn Festival, with extended service hours from MTR, KMB, and trams to facilitate public celebrations.
On the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, all local MTR lines (excluding the Airport Express, Disneyland Resort Line, and East Rail Line trains between Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau stations) and several Light Rail routes (including 505, 507, 610, 614P, 615P, 706, and 751) will operate overnight.
MTR Bus routes 506, K51, and K54 will also extend their service hours. MTR will increase the frequency of trains on eight lines (Island Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Kwun Tong Line, Tseung Kwan O Line, South Island Line, Tung Chung Line, East Rail Line, and Tuen Ma Line) starting from 3 p.m.
KMB will enhance bus services from the Mid-Autumn Festival until the early hours of the following day (Sept. 18), adjusting the peak times for over a hundred routes and extending the service hours for ten routes, including 52X, 75K, 81K, 83K, 282, 283, 284, 285, 288, and 299X. On the morning of Sept. 18, KMB will introduce and adjust four overnight routes: N368, N64P, N272, and N276.
Citybus will adjust the departure times of some routes and introduce a special route 173R from Stanley to Tsim Sha Tsui via Hung Hom and Jordan on the evening of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Trams will offer free rides all day on the Mid-Autumn Festival, with some tram routes extending their service until 1 a.m. on Sept. 18.
Minibuses and ferries across 10 dedicated routes will extend their service; Star Ferry, New Ferry, and Hong Kong and Kowloon Ferry will enhance services based on passenger demand.
