High-speed rail to Zhejiang and Jiangsu canceled due to typhoon Bebinca
As typhoon Bebinca swept past Amami Oshima in Kagoshima, Japan, it moved west-northwest across the East China Sea, gradually nearing the East China coast.
The Central Meteorological Observatory of CMA issued an orange typhoon warning, predicting that Bebinca will make landfall along the coast from Taizhou in Zhejiang to Qidong in Jiangsu tonight (Sept. 15) through Monday (Sept. 16) morning, possibly as a typhoon or severe typhoon.
Due to the storm, several airlines have canceled flights to and from the East China region. Two high-speed rail services between West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong and Shanghai Hongqiao Station scheduled for today and tomorrow, identified as D907 and D908, will be canceled.
Chen Ji-ning, the secretary of the Shanghai Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, emphasized the need to fully engage in the typhoon defense effort to ensure the safety of lives and property, as well as the orderly operation of the megacity.
Affected passengers can process refunds via the high-speed rail's official website, mobile app, or at West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong.
