Mutual Use of QR Code between HKSAR and Macao SAR Clearance Service to be launched tomorrow
The Immigration Department, in collaboration with Macao authorities, launched the "Mutual Use of QR Code between HKSAR and Macao SAR Clearance Service" today, July 19. Eligible residents of both regions can use their respective QR codes to cross the border without presenting a physical identity card.
In the latest "Choice" monthly magazine issue, the Hong Kong Consumer Council reported that bromate levels in samples from Ganten and Nongfu Spring reached the European Union limit (3 micrograms per liter) in an ozone disinfection byproduct test.
Nongfu Spring had previously sent a legal letter to the Hong Kong Consumer Council, prompting the council to conduct in-depth research and follow-up and meet with its representatives.
The council clarified the test samples and apologized for any misunderstanding caused by the discrepancy in sample classification on July 18.
Doraemon Drone Show to light up Victoria Harbor again on July 20
The organizer, AllRightsReserved (ARR), plans to hold a second Doraemon drone show over Tsim Sha Tsui East at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.
This decision follows the enthusiastic reception of the world's first Doraemon drone show in May and the successful launch of the "100% Doraemon & FRIENDS" touring exhibition's first stop last Saturday (July 13).
This event will feature new, exciting content, with 1,000 drones transforming into various classic Doraemon scenes and figures, offering a visual feast for the audience.
DSE result released: CE encourages candidates, saying the future is full of opportunities
The results of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) examination are released on July 17. The Chief Executive, John Lee, posted a message on social media platforms to encourage the candidates, saying that no matter their results, the future is full of opportunities and that with continued hard work, a bright future can surely be created.
PayMe to introduce a 1.2% fee for top-ups using non-HSBC credit cards starting Aug.19
HSBC's PayMe announced today (July 16) that starting August 19, a 1.2% fee will be charged for top-ups using non-HSBC credit cards. For example, if you top up HKD100, PayMe will charge a fee of HKD1.2. Top-ups using HSBC credit cards or any bank account will remain free of charge.
CE to visit ASEAN countries, promote HK's advantages and business opportunities
Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee announced on July 16 that he will lead a delegation to visit three ASEAN countries - Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam - in the latter half of this month. The government is currently finalizing the details of the ASEAN visit and will make timely announcements.
