What does new high-speed sleeper train look like?

The EMU sleeper train service on the Hong Kong section of the high-speed rail commenced operations on June 15.

Compared with other high-speed railways, overnight sleeper high-speed railways can provide enough rest time, so that travelers can continue their journey on the second day in good spirits.

As we can see, there are four beds in the room, and there is a hook next to the bed to hang bags or clothes.

Inside the room, there is a small table where we can put our snacks or laptops.

There are places on the train where you can wash your hands, and there is also a restroom at the beginning and end of each car.

Govt plans gradual annual increase in university tuition fees

The government plans to gradually increase tuition fees for the eight subsidized universities in Hong Kong starting from the 2025/26 academic year, according to sources.

The proposed plan involves annual fee hikes of 5 to 9 percent over three consecutive years beginning next year, with an official announcement expected soon.

Secretary for Education Dr. Choi Yuk-lin recently stated that since the 1996/97 academic year, inflation has risen by approximately 40%, yet local subsidized university tuition fees have remained unchanged.

Choi emphasized that it is time to review and raise tuition fees, though she assured that the increase would not happen immediately.

Eason Chan's Foshan concerts postponed to January 2025

Eason Chan, the renowned Hong Kong singer, suffered a heatstroke and fainted while playing tennis on June 10, resulting in a fractured jaw after hitting the ground. This incident led to the postponement of his concert in Chongqing.

On June 17, the organizers announced that the six scheduled "Fear and Dreams" concerts in Foshan, initially set for July 12-14 and 19-21, 2024, will now be rescheduled to January 2025, allowing Eason more time for rest and recovery.

The medical team has assessed that the fractured jaw needs six weeks to heal naturally. Consequently, the management company regretfully announced the postponement of the Foshan concerts to January 2025.

The event organizer, Guangzhou Baohui Cultural Development Co., Ltd., will provide details regarding the rescheduled dates and compensation arrangements.
