On Nov. 7, the 2026 Hong Kong International Talent Festival was successfully held at the Hopewell Hotel in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. This year's Talent Festival featured two major events: the Sixth Hong Kong International Talent Summit Forum and the 2026 Hong Kong International Talent Career Expo (Second Season). It also received an inscription from Chief Executive John Lee — Great Achievements, Far-Reaching Vision, Outstanding Talent and Brilliant Wisdom — fully reflecting the Hong Kong SAR government's earnest expectation to attract talent widely and its firm determination to build a highland for gathering international high-end talent.
The event featured four major thematic forums held in morning and afternoon sessions, with in-depth exchanges from four dimensions: strategic opportunities, gathering talent to invigorate Hong Kong, science and technology innovation empowerment, and talent support measures. In the keynote speeches and roundtable dialogues, guests held discussions from multiple perspectives, holding that Hong Kong should leverage the advantages of the Greater Bay Area as an international hub, create a complete closed loop of attracting, nurturing and utilising talent, facilitate two-way flows of talent between the mainland and the world, and ensure that incoming talent and the local labour market complement and coexist with each other rather than compete. With the development of AI technology, interdisciplinary capabilities, soft skills and humanistic literacy are becoming increasingly important, and young people are called on to broaden their horizons and integrate personal development into the building of the country and the Greater Bay Area.
At the same time, the event specially set up a dedicated policy sharing session with the Immigration Department, with Senior Immigration Officer Lau Kai-kuen and Immigration Officer Lo Chi-kwan on site to explain and answer questions one by one on applications for the Top Talent Pass, Quality Migrant and Professionals schemes, renewal rules and common application issues, directly addressing the pain points of visa implementation for talent coming to Hong Kong and providing authoritative and practical policy guidance for talent on site.
A physical recruitment exhibition area was also set up at the venue at the same time, bringing together exhibitors including authoritative public bodies, leading local Hong Kong enterprises, science and technology innovation unicorns, professional service organisations and well-known mainland enterprises and institutions. Each enterprise and institution set up dedicated booths, offering face-to-face on-site recruitment to applicants. According to statistics from the organising committee, this year's Talent Festival attracted more than 100 leading enterprises and professional institutions from Hong Kong and the mainland as exhibitors, with more than 8,000 jobseekers attending throughout the day, and jobseekers and exhibitor representatives engaging in lively exchanges.
