A fire broke out at Kingswood Villas in Tin Shui Wai on Saturday (Nov. 7), leaving a woman unconscious in hospital and prompting about 100 residents to evacuate on their own, police said.
Police received reports from residents shortly after 5pm that smoke was coming from a flat in Block 14, Locwood Court. The çdeployed a breathing apparatus team and extinguished the blaze at 6.07pm.
During the search and rescue, rescuers found the woman unconscious on a staircase and sent her to Tin Shui Wai Hospital.
Police said a preliminary investigation suggested the fire was started by clutter catching fire inside the flat.
