A 31-year-old man surnamed Zheng admitted on Nov. 2 to all charges in the murder of a Chinese female student, including murder, body damage and disposal, and obstruction of official duty.
The 13th Criminal Division of the Daegu District Court heard the case. Prosecutors said Zheng is also under investigation for alleged sexual violence against another victim, and the two cases may be combined.
Zheng is suspected of killing the 25-year-old victim, at his home in Hayang-eup, Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, in the early hours of Aug. 20, before abandoning her body at remote mountainous areas and crematoriums. He filed a false police report, wore women's clothing to Dongdaegu Station and switched off her phone to hamper the investigation. He was arrested on Aug. 25.
