A private jet carrying nine people crashed into a residential area in Palm Beach County, Florida, on Nov. 1, killing everyone on board. According to CCTV News, a recording of air traffic control radio communications shows that minutes before the crash, the pilot reported aircraft icing and moderate turbulence. It is understood that there were scattered thunderstorms in the area at the time, and the aircraft passed through a strong storm cloud minutes before descending.
According to US media reports, the aircraft plunged 31,000 feet (about 9,450 metres) in less than a minute before crashing. Reports say the crash site is only seven to eight kilometres from US President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate.
