The INTERPOL General Assembly will be held in Hong Kong on Nov. 30. Secretary for Security Chris Tang met today (Oct. 22) with a delegation led by INTERPOL Secretary-General Valdecy Urquiza, who is visiting Hong Kong, to exchange views on the progress of preparations for the assembly.
Tang said that as a key global law enforcement cooperation platform, INTERPOL has always been committed to promoting collaboration among law enforcement agencies worldwide to combat cross-border crime and safeguard global security. For this reason, Hong Kong's ability to host this international event fully reflects international recognition of the city's professional law enforcement capabilities and strengths in international connectivity.
Tang recalled that when he attended the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum in Lianyungang in September this year, he promised Secretary-General Valdecy Urquiza that Hong Kong would spare no effort in hosting the assembly well. With preparations progressing steadily, he and his team are now even more confident, hoping to let representatives from around the world experience Hong Kong's charm while showcasing the city's strength and vitality to the world.
