Luoyang, in central China's Henan province, held a grand welcome ceremony recreating Tang Dynasty traditions at Yingtianmen Gate in the Suitang Luoyang City National Archaeological Site Park on the evening of Oct. 9, welcoming domestic and international guests attending the 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue in Luoyang and the 7th International Ancient Capitals Forum.
Illuminated against the night sky, Yingtianmen Gate, known as the foremost gate of the Sui and Tang dynasties, once served as a venue for diplomatic receptions and cultural exchanges. More than a thousand years later, the historic site has been transformed into a cultural space bridging the past and present.
The ceremony revived traditional Tang Dynasty hospitality rituals, inviting guests from around the world to engage in dialogue and mutual understanding among civilizations.
