The men's foil team event at the 20th Asian Games held its semi-finals on Sept. 25. The Hong Kong team, comprising Ryan Choi, Cheung Ka-long, Ho Shing-him, and Leung Chin-yu, narrowly defeated South Korea 45-41 in the last four to book their place in the final — securing at least silver and keeping gold in sight. They will face hosts Japan in the gold medal match later.
Hong Kong fielded Cheung Ka-long, Ryan Choi, and Ho Shing-him. Choi won five consecutive points in the second period to stretch the lead to 10-2, giving Hong Kong a significant early advantage. The team then maintained a lead of around 10 points. In the final period, although Choi was once pegged back to 41-43, he went on to win the next two points to seal victory for Hong Kong.
