US President Donald Trump said in a social media post on the 19th that he will form an "artificial intelligence force," according to Xinhua News Agency.
Trump said that to build the "AI force," he will soon appoint an AI affairs "chief." He said artificial intelligence represents the next industrial revolution or internet wave, and that its scale and influence will be even greater, possibly accounting for as much as 25 percent of US gross domestic product.
Trump also attacked radical Democrats in the post, accusing them of "trying to destroy artificial intelligence," and said, "We will not in any way obstruct or kill this remarkable industry. Instead, we will cherish it, support it, and protect its growth." He also said the United States will use its existing criminal and civil justice systems to severely punish AI-related wrongdoing.
