The WTT Finals 2026 will take place from Dec. 9 to 13, with the tournament moving to Hong Kong's Kai Tak Arena for the first time, WTT announced on social media on Friday (Sept. 4).

Top table tennis players from around the world will once again converge on HK to compete for the title. The release of the first batch of confirmed players marks the countdown to the annual table tennis season finale.

The first batch of players qualified for the WTT Hong Kong Finals 2026 features a strong line-up.

In the men's singles, French star Felix Lebrun, champion of the WTT Europe Smash in Sweden, and Japanese player Sora Matsushima, winner of the WTT US Smash, have secured their places in the tournament. Both are highly regarded young talents currently making waves in the table tennis world and will challenge for the men's singles title.

In the women's singles, Japan's Miwa Harimoto is among the first players to qualify. She has won both the WTT Champions Chongqing and WTT Champions Yokohama events, establishing herself among the elite in women's table tennis and as a strong contender for the title.

In mixed doubles, South Korea's Lim Jong-hoon and Shin Yu-bin, currently ranked No. 1 in the world, are the defending champions and will seek to retain their title in HK.

HK has secured hosting rights for the WTT Finals for three years. Last year's finals were held at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Hung Hom, attracting 87,000 spectators over five days.

Last year, Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto and China's Wang Manyu won the men's and women's singles titles respectively, while Lim Jong-hoon and Shin Yu-bin claimed the mixed doubles crown.

Further announcements on the remaining qualified players and ticket sales for the WTT Hong Kong Finals 2026 will be made officially in due course.
