At 10:59 am today (Aug. 25), a fire broke out in a unit at Hennessy Building, 488 Hennessy Road, Causeway Bay. Police received multiple reports, and firefighters arrived at the scene, deploying a search and rescue team and fire hoses to battle the blaze.
The Transport Department said today (Aug. 25) that due to the fire, the entire section of Percival Street between Hennessy Road and Leighton Road has been fully closed. Motorists are advised to consider using alternative routes. Traffic in the area is currently heavy.
Netizens shared videos showing that "Happy Valley tram services are suspended. Eastbound trams cannot turn into Percival Street. Firefighters have arrived."
