The Hong Kong Observatory said today (Aug. 21) that the tropical depression located over the Beibu Gulf has intensified into a tropical storm.
According to the latest forecast, the tropical storm is expected to linger over the Beibu Gulf tomorrow, before gradually shifting east to northeast early next week, approaching the Leizhou Peninsula and the western coast of Guangdong.
The Observatory will closely monitor the storm's movement and local wind conditions, and assess whether a tropical cyclone warning needs to be issued early next week. Members of the public are advised to stay updated on the latest weather information.
