The public consultation for Hong Kong's first five-year plan concludes today (August 14). The government collected views from all sectors through multiple channels, holding more than 90 consultation sessions to gather public opinion. It received at least 13,800 submissions related to Hong Kong's five-year plan, and at least 8,500 submissions related to the Policy Address.
Among the more than 20,000 submissions, what suggestions did the public put forward? Which areas deserve the most development or should be prioritized for improvement? DotDotNews took two district consultation sessions held in Tuen Mun and Kowloon Tong as examples, using artificial intelligence to analyze public speeches and summarize high-frequency keywords, in order to understand the public's key concerns about Hong Kong's future development path.

Looking at the speeches from both district consultation sessions, whether it is the mobility of the housing ladder, the scope of healthcare vouchers, or talent training in the AI era, they all reflect the public's high level of concern about policy details. Chief Executive John Lee earlier stated that the government aims to first publish Hong Kong's five-year plan within September, and release the Policy Address as soon as possible, with the time gap between the two being as short as possible.
