Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez officially tied the knot in Portugal on August 12. The civil ceremony was held in Cascais, a picturesque coastal town west of Lisbon, with only immediate family present for an extremely low-key affair.
According to a statement released by his PR team, the ceremony was described as "a private and intimate moment," witnessed throughout by the couple's five children. Following the wedding, the newlyweds simultaneously shared photos wearing their wedding rings on their respective social media accounts, officially announcing the news to the public.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez met in Madrid and have been together for ten years.
Their romance began while Rodriguez was working as a sales associate at a local luxury boutique; she subsequently stepped away from her career to dedicate herself fully to family life.
As one of the most influential figures in world football, Ronaldo boasts an illustrious career laden with honors, including five Ballon d'Or titles. He also recently represented Portugal in his sixth World Cup, equaling the record for most tournament appearances.
He currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, whose new league season kicks off this Saturday, meaning Ronaldo will return to the pitch swiftly after the nuptials.
