The Government has been conducting public consultations on Hong Kong's first five‑year plan and the Policy Address since June. Chief Executive John Lee, together with secretaries, attended the second district consultation session at Kowloon Tong today (Aug. 9).
At 9 am, the principal officials arrived at Kowloon Tong Government Primary School. The district consultation session is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and will last for two hours, divided into two parts. In the first part, Mr Lee and the officials listened to views expressed by members of the public, covering a wide range of topics, including accelerating the development of the Northern Metropolis and advancing other regional spatial planning; economy, finance and trade; innovation, technology and industrial development; livelihood and social development; regional co‑operation; cultural, sports and tourism synergy; and green living, among others. The second part consisted of group discussions, during which attending citizens were divided into groups to have in‑depth exchanges with officials on two themes: "boosting the economy and pursuing development" and "improving people's livelihoods and building for the future". Mr Lee took turns engaging and discussing with citizens in each group, listening to their views.
