In an effort to improve mutual understanding and communication, Chief Executive John Lee will have his first discussion and exchange session with lawmakers on July 28.
Legco's dining hall or an antechamber will host the "Chief Executive's Dialogue with Legislative Council Members."
The purpose of the meeting, according to a letter from the administration wing to the Legco secretariat, is to "enable the participants to have warm, in-depth and direct dialogues in a calm and cordial setting."
According to the statement, "the exchange could be open and flexible with the aim of enhancing mutual understanding and communication, fostering reform partnership between the government and Legco, attaining more fully the spirit of mutual cooperation with checks and balances between the two, and further unleashing the value of 'patriots administering Hong Kong' to a greater extent."
The CEO stated that he completely understands if certain members are unable to attend the event because of prior obligations, as it will take place during Legco's recess.
